Our trees typically grow to about 6 feet, with some reaching up to 9 feet in their first year.

Customers have reported getting chestnuts on their trees as early as the second year!

We just went through the second windiest spring in the last 50 years, and as a result, our stand got blown over. Today’s the first chance we’ve had to get it back up and this time, we’re using a different anchoring system. There’s nothing quite like waking up and noticing something missing out in your field. Here is a 3 year old orchard tree called Hansen we planted in 2022. I lost count of the chestnut burs at 50. Genetics are mostly Castanea Mollissima but also suspected to have some Japanese and American genetics. The leaves are much narrower and not as glossy as what you’d see on a pure Castanea Mollissima tree.
